Verticals for Good

Strategy Session: Project, Business & Partnership

In short: The challenge is the first project; the service offering is the business being developed; and the support agreement defines our team’s role in making both happen.

Session goal: Agree on what we are building, what we will deliver first, who is responsible, and how contributions will be compensated.

The Challenge & Launch

The Verticals for Good micro-series challenge invites writers to create a 10–12-episode adaptation or thematic reimagining of Havilah’s book, Rewriting a New History. The proposed initiative includes a $2,000 prize, writer recruitment, paid workshops, promotion, sponsorship outreach, and a winner announcement at the November LA Vertical Drama Market.

Its purpose is to develop a strong script, identify writers who can create transformational content, and establish an initial case study for the larger initiative.

The Commercial Offering

Verticals for Good is exploring a tiered service offering to help brands, nonprofits, authors, and production companies enter the micro-drama space. Potential services include market assessment, creative consultation, concept development, and full-service production. Distribution support still needs to be defined.

The $5,000 consultation fee discussed is a preliminary idea, not an approved price.

Key decision

What can clients purchase, what does each service include, and who will deliver it?

The Partnership & Support Agreement

The collaborators may support Verticals for Good through strategy, positioning, relationship mapping, sponsorship development, business development, and coordination.

The team needs to clarify whether this is a partnership between existing businesses, a jointly owned venture, or a service engagement supporting Havilah as a client. Roles, authority, deliverables, ownership, and compensation remain to be agreed.

What are we committing to deliver, with what authority, time commitment, and compensation?
